Our store front is located in the old fire house in the historic waterfront town of La Conner, Washington, a unique setting in a charming destination. We offer a vast array of restored vintage lighting fixtures from the late 1800s to the mid-1900s. We are known for an ever changing inventory of restored vintage lighting of exceptional depth and quality– pieces to truly define your home.

Our on-site workshop not only refurbishes fixtures which move to our 2400 square foot display area, but also enables us to offer full repair services for your vintage lighting.

Let’s be clear though. We’re not a typical antique store. We are a vintage specialty store with modern sensibilities. Our vintage lighting is designed to work in today’s world, while recalling the charm and luster of an earlier era. That’s why our presentation is a “must see.” A visit to our shop will light your imagination and inspire your creativity. Come see why it is as unique as the charming town where we live.

I guess you could say Mary Davis Vintage Lighting is the culmination of a lifelong fascination with all things vintage and, fortunately for me, I have been able to build this business on the knowledge I have accumulated from that passion. Best of all, that enables me to share my knowledge with you.I’m not sure how I got started, but at the age of 12, I received my first lamp for Christmas. I do not remember asking “Santa” for one, but how prophetic a gift that was. As much as I loved that lamp, I wasn’t completely smitten by vintage lighting until I undertook the restoration of a 1905 Seattle home some 25 years ago. That’s when I first truly understood that lighting is like jewelry for your home. After my own restoration project, in my spare time I began helping friends with their lighting needs. As my knowledge of vintage lighting grew, I evolved my career from buying and merchandising in the fashion industry, where I worked many years for Ralph Lauren corporate, into an exclusive vintage lighting business of my own.

Anyone who has undertaken a home restoration will understand how easy it is to forget the inconvenience of the actual project and remember only the satisfaction of the result. This is certainly true for me, as once I moved to La Conner I took on the restoration of a Victorian home here, located only a two minute walk from our shop. I now share that wonderful space (filled, of course, with vintage lighting) with Edgar, my Old English sheepdog.

Although I have an abiding appreciation for all things vintage, I am also happily embedded in the 21st century, so do feel free to send me an email. I so enjoy helping people with their lighting needs, and I look forward to working with you, to get you inspired. – Mary Davis

Like Mary, vintage lighting began as a hobby for me. For years, I delighted in finding old lighting and figuring out how to restore and repair it for friends. Through experimentation and testing, I taught myself a second career. Having retired from my first full-time career, as an Episcopal priest, I purchased Brass Lamp Antiques in Snohomish, Washington in 2004, thus completing my transition from a role extolling “the light of the world,” to simply lighting the world.Soon I began doing lamp repairs for Mary’s La Conner shop. The more I did, the more evident it became that it made sense for us to collaborate on a full-time basis. In 2008 we opened Mary Davis Vintage Lighting, where Mary works with you to find the perfect lighting, and I do repair, rewiring, restoration and custom work. My favorite projects, though, are creating industrial pieces made from found objects that are adjustable. I call my counter-balanced lights “rise and fall,” You will find a large selection of my custom pieces in our shop.

Do you have a favorite piece you need repaired, or would like to turn into a lamp? If so, come by and let’s talk. I look forward to meeting you and discussing your project in person. – Tom Minifie
